Brightwood Ventures, LLC is managed by Dave Hofer, CFA. Dave's investment experience is broad, ranging from private equity investments at Intel Capital to exchange traded funds, mutual funds, individual stocks and bonds, and derivatives (options, futures). As a Director with Intel Capital, Dave was responsible for a portfolio worth in excess of $500 million. In addition to his investment related experience, Dave has 25 years of experience in general management, marketing, mergers & acquisitions and engineering with Intel Corp., Mentor Graphics Corp., and Seagate.
Dave was awarded the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder in October of 2014. Considered by many to be the most rigorous and complete professional designation in finance, the program's focus is graduate level content on a broad range of topics including securities valuation, portfolio construction, economics, managerial accounting, with a significant focus on ethics.
Dave also holds an MBA from Portland State University and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
